I’m so excited to blog about this one hehe… I picked a different wrapping paper for today. It’s very pretty too. I originally took a photo of it upside down, until I realised, wait.. those are baubles, and turned it around for another photo, haha.

Bead bracelet!

So it’s a bead bracelet! The shimmery mystic colours are very attractive on faceted beads. Can’t wait to put it on.

Lovely fit

It fits like a glove, OMG. My wrists are so skinny thin, most bracelets and bangles are just too big and flop around like no one’s business. I have given away all those bracelets because they just looked ridiculous on me. Don’t worry Samantha, I have to say that these are just the right fit! Most stretch bracelets out there are simply too big, but this one is perfect. The bracelet stops halfway up my arm, and that’s just right for me. 🙂

I like this bracelet

I love the chunky faceted mystic beads.. they go so well with the metal accents. I found myself wearing it all day as soon as I opened the package. Another fantastic gift from Samantha. Thank you!

Last night, instead of just doing nothing or working on polymer clay, I decided to make something using memory wire. I must say that I’m not good at designing with it. There are so many wonderful styles that can be accomplished. I even ordered a couple of finished bracelets from Etsy sellers. They were so pretty. I want to learn from the designs, but definitely not to copy and sell… I just admire them. They’ve been on my favourites list for ages. Here’s what I bought: New Years Resolution and Lavender Pixel Triplets.

So here is what I made…



It’s single layer, pretty much like a bead bangle, really. I joined the ends together, because the bracelet kept opening up. It’s a little too big for me, but that’s how I can manage to get my hand into it.



The bracelet is asymmetrical, yet there is a visible pattern. That’s also one reason why I think it looks good. Forgive me, all my design terminology has flown out the window, so I cannot analyse the bracelet any further. 😛

I’ve been wanting to make bracelets for a while now, but buying chains are always a daunting and expensive task. I started making my own jump rings, using only 19-20 gauge wire and different sized knitting needles. It really hurts my thumb and index finger when I do the coiling. Still, this allows me to make chainmaille! I’ve been playing around with a couple of simple designs using different wire colours:

I think these would be the best if I want to hang charms from them. I even made my own hook clasps! After making three, my fingers ached like crazy, but only from the jump ring making. I need a proper tool to coil them if I want to save my fingers…

I particularly like my solid copper bracelet, using antiqued and bare copper wires in 19 and 20 gauge. I got the antiqued copper wire from Malaysia, but I can imagine antiquing some myself using a sulphur solution. Sounds fun.

I attached the baby pink tart to it, since it already had a copper loop. I think I like it with just one charm!


What do you think? Should I list the bracelets empty and let people choose a charm to go with it, or list it already with one charm? New moulds arrived in the mail today, and I can’t wait to make new foods next week (after my Germany trip this weekend). I guess I will decide then, unless you guys can give me some input.
